Since joining Ember Technology in 2026, Luke has brought a thoughtful and detail-oriented approach to his role as a Software Engineer. A graduate of the University of Canterbury with a degree in Software Engineering, Luke combines strong technical foundations with a long-standing passion for coding, having first taught himself in primary school.

Following university, Luke gained valuable industry experience in Nelson working in avionics, where he developed software for aircraft communication and tracking systems. This environment required precision and reliability, shaping his meticulous approach to development and reinforcing the importance of getting things right the first time.

At Ember, Luke’s strengths lie in web development, alongside a keen interest in product delivery and understanding how his work is used by clients. He enjoys the balance of technical problem-solving and client interaction, bringing strong communication skills to meetings and project discussions.

Outside of work, Luke enjoys spending time outdoors tramping and rock climbing, particularly indoor bouldering with friends. He also unwinds through video gaming, baking, and origami, reflecting his creative and logical mindset.
