Since joining Ember Technology, Sun has brought a calm, thoughtful approach to her role as a Systems Engineer, underpinned by strong technical capability and a passion for innovation. Her interest in technology began early, with a natural affinity for computers throughout primary school, and continued through her studies in Computer Science at the University of Auckland.

After graduating, Sun moved to Japan in 2025, where she pursued software engineering and gained exposure to emerging technologies in a fast-paced environment. During this time, she further developed her programming skills and built a strong foundation in practical development.

Alongside her industry experience, Sun has contributed to research in artificial intelligence, assisting with projects exploring its application in medicine. This work focuses on developing predictive systems that can analyse large-scale population data to inform individual outcomes.

At Ember, Sun’s strengths lie in programming and automation, combined with strong interpersonal skills and a calm, patient approach to problem-solving.

Outside of work, she enjoys creative pursuits such as illustration and character design, as well as video gaming and building her own software projects.
