Flightcert
Background
Flightcert became an Ember Technology client in 2025. First launched in 2011, it was already well-established with a loyal user base. Given the high-risk nature of aviation, we had to quickly understand both the product and the sector to carry it forward without missing a beat - and earn the trust of the team behind it.

Flightcert is a cloud-based platform that takes the complexity out of tracking aircraft maintenance - work that's fundamental to operating an aircraft safely and efficiently. It gives users instant, secure access to their flight and maintenance data from anywhere in the world, backed by a team of software engineers.

Our Solution
Our focus has been on shaping the Flightcert vision and building internal processes for feature requests, testing and deployment. This has delivered smoothly and built trust, letting Flightcert lean on us for more work over time.
A key development is rectification editing, which splits sign-off on a maintenance worksheet across different people. Previously, one person completed the worksheet in a single step; now it's broken into phases, giving clients the flexibility to work in a way that suits them.
We've also built the Flightcert API for HeliOtago, letting different systems communicate and giving clients integration across platforms.
Alongside this, we maintain the platform, upgrade testing frameworks, and handle system monitoring and security updates - including using AI to audit the codebase.
