A Week in the AI Rodeo at Ember Technology

After the summer break, the entire Green Halo team stepped into a week-long research and development rodeo focused on one thing: innovating and putting AI to the test against real-world problems. We structured the week around a series of challenges drawn directly from live client projects and our sustainability platform, GreenHalo.

Teams explored how AI could be applied across two core areas: generative reporting and spreadsheet ingestion, and data interpretation, reporting, and summarisation. A key focus was whether AI could ingest spreadsheets in varying formats and make sense of them without heavy pre-handling.

Tech teams worked competitively, experimenting with different tools and approaches to determine the most effective ways to implement AI in practice. While Brooke and Sophie led project management across the week, keeping everything moving and collaborative.

The week wrapped with a full-team show-and-tell, sharing learnings, challenges, and outcomes - turning experimentation into insight and capability we can build on!
