Introducing our Managing Director

Chris Bailey has been Managing Director at Ember Technology for 10 years and is a shareholder. He has a broad background as an independent Director and business leader, including $150 million asset portfolios through to leading digital startups.

In 2016, Chris switched Ember to be a customer-driven business. The more he listened, the more he heard clients need support using data to make better management decisions, digital automation to boost productivity, and cybersecurity peace of mind. He set Ember on a path to deliver this broader suite of services while still striving to provide world-class client experience and create genuine business partnerships.

Chris is passionate about Ember’s vision: to do more than our fair share to make Aotearoa a better place to live and work. He’s proud that we have started tracking client productivity for each of our projects and that we have invested a considerable proportion of our profits into environmental initiatives.

Prior to joining Ember, Chris won awards in governance and business innovation. He spent 16 years in elite sport management, leading NZ’s high-performance coaching strategy and managing $55M of investment into high-performance sport programmes.

Chris has been a leadership coach and strategy development consultant, giving him a strong foundation in people, performance and long-term planning.

Today, Chris works closely with clients to ensure they receive a world-class experience. He is highly driven by seeing organisations grow, improve and realise their goals.

Outside of work, Chris enjoys skiing, surfing and staying fit - particularly in the outdoors.
