Introducing our Technical Director

Before beginning his work at Ember Technology in 2013, George has completed broad and extensive studies before joining Ember, with a background in Law and History at Otago, followed by postgraduate Computer Science at UC. George has now been a part of the Ember team for more than a decade, one of our longest-standing team members and a testament to his loyalty.

Now Technical Director, George manages backend issues, allocates resources and plans ahead for future client and team needs. He also leads much of Ember’s AI research, staying current with how emerging tools can be applied in real business settings. Having worked in almost every role and now a shareholder, his loyalty and experience give him a deep understanding of the industry.

In his role, George oversees Ember’s technical delivery across cybersecurity, infrastructure, and technical account management, leading three specialist teams. As Technical Director, he provides architectural oversight and acts as a key solution architect, ensuring systems are designed to be secure, scalable, and aligned with client objectives.

George is currently involved in the development of AI applications for businesses, with a strong focus on improving efficiency and practical outcomes. He is particularly passionate about helping organisations understand how emerging technologies can be applied meaningfully, rather than theoretically.

Outside work he enjoys gaming, computers, internet culture and movies.
