Introducing our Technical Director

George joined Ember Technology in 2013 and has risen to be our Technical Director and a shareholder. He is responsible for ensuring the job requests from our IT Support and Cyber Security clients are resolved as quickly as possible, and ensuring our clients work with the same Support Engineer wherever possible.

George scouts the world of IT for new ways to bring value, security and efficiency to our clients. He was the first to alert the team to ChatGPT before it was even a thing! George is currently involved in the development of AI applications for businesses, with a strong focus on improving efficiency and practical outcomes. He is particularly passionate about helping organisations understand how emerging technologies can be applied meaningfully, rather than theoretically.

George is first and foremost a people person. He leads our Technical Account Managers and works directly with clients himself. He's also built a very tight and loyal team to deliver our infrastructure and cybersecurity services.

With so much experience, George provides architectural oversight and acts as a key solution architect, ensuring systems are designed to be secure, scalable, and aligned with client objectives. There really isn't much George hasn't done, and the team are lucky to have such a warm, knowledgeable and experienced manager.

Before joining Ember Technology, George completed a Bachelor of Computer Science at the University of Canterbury and a Bachelor of Arts from Otago University. Outside work, he enjoys gaming, computers, internet culture and movies.
