Up the Mountain with our Managing Director

Our Managing Director, Chris Bailey, headed deep into the backcountry for a ski touring mission around Mount Potts with a solid crew of mates last ski season. Unsurprisingly, he was kitted out head-to-toe in Cactus gear.

Over four days, the team skinned their way through the ranges chasing fresh snow, putting both themselves and the gear to the test. The weather eventually turned, with high winds forcing them off the mountain on the final day, but not before some seriously epic conditions.

Chris was running the Patrol Pack, Knit Beanie, Mountain Jacket, Norbu, and more - always good to see our gear performing where it’s built to be: in tough alpine conditions as much as the good days.

Rumour has it the crew also managed a fairly memorable night up at the hut. While the whiskies didn’t make the photo roll, they certainly sound like they earned their place in the story. Somewhere in the middle of nowhere, that sounds like a pretty good Saturday night to us.
